TT15713-119 / TAILOR TOYO Early 1950s Style Acetate Souvenir Jacket “KOSHO & CO.” Special Edition “PIT VIPER” × “EAGLE & SNAKE”

A special edition for 2025, inspired by the Year of the Snake. Among countless vintage designs, snake-themed embroidery is exceptionally rare. This piece brings together the standout "A-sides" of two such scarce vintage jackets, creating a luxurious “double A-side” design that showcases the best of both originals in one.

The front side features a dynamic scene from the early 1950s: a pit viper slithering through the bamboo forest in search of prey. The embroidery technique varies with the movement of the snake's sinuous body to capture a sense of motion, while the distinctive coin-patterned scales (circular motifs with dots) are layered using horizontal stitching to create a bold, three-dimensional effect. The bamboo and leaves are stitched with multiple colored threads, blending shades from white to green to evoke the depth of a nighttime forest. The body and ribs are finished in an elegant black and gold color scheme, accented by bold red and white piping.
The reversible side showcases a majestic eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a white snake in its beak. The feathers are intricately shaded using subtle gradients of white, gold, and pink threads to depict overlapping textures and depth. Sharp black accents on the eagle’s head, the snake’s scales, and the pine branch it perches on give the design a crisp, defined finish. Unlike typical souvenir jackets where the body and sleeve lines match in color, this piece features a rare combination: a wine-colored body, green under-sleeves, and silver lines across the top of the sleeves. This unique three-tone construction is seldom seen even in vintage pieces, and black ribbing, like on the embroidery, brings the overall look into sharp focus.
