To mark the Year of the Snake in 2025, this special edition piece pays homage to the zodiac animal with an original design. Celebrating its 60th anniversary since its founding in 1965, Toyo Enterprise presents a unique creation that reimagines its iconic souvenir jacket—not as a vintage reproduction, but as a wholly original embroidered work of art.

The front side features a mystical white snake standing still in a moonlit bamboo forest, its body glowing with divine brilliance. A rich embroidery technique is used throughout: two different thread colors bring depth to the snake’s body, while a separate shade brings out the bamboo. Three distinct shades of white thread are used to create intricate detail, and the bamboo leaves are rendered with a green gradient in two tones. Amidst the soft color palette, the snake’s eyes and tongue stand out in vivid red, drawing the eye to the heart of the design and highlighting the snake’s commanding presence.
Though the body appears monochrome at first glance with its black-and-white theme, green-and-white piping and green accents on the ribbing echo the green tones in the embroidery, bringing harmony to the overall look.
The reversible side offers a springtime vision: a map of Japan surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms, with a white snake coiling protectively around the country. While the front uses overlapping horizontal stitching to depict the snake’s textured scales, the reverse side leaves parts of the embroidery open, allowing the black base fabric to show through and create natural shading and dimension. The ribbing features a rare turquoise blue, a detail rarely seen even on vintage pieces. With a bold yet refined aesthetic rooted in decades of vintage reproduction expertise, this jacket is a true original born from tradition and innovation.
