The winter coat provided to students at the U.S. Air Force Academy was adopted in the late 1960s and features a single-layered, cold-resistant, tightly packed wool melton body.
The hood can be divided by a zipper attached to the center of the hood, and when opened, the coat fits well and has a simple appearance.
Although this is an Air Force Academy garment, the label indicates that it is made to strict mil-spec standards, and the presence or absence of this label must have given the wearer a different impression.
