SS39220 / SUNSURF RAYON HAWAIIAN SHIRT “ISLAND CLASSIC BORDER”

Combined with traditional "tapa" designs brought to Hawaii by Polynesians, the shirts depict scenes of Hawaii before it became a modern lifestyle.
The motifs, expressed with a print-style touch, are arranged in a border pattern to create a story within the shirt.
This sophisticated design was created by Betty, a top designer of the Kahala brand, on order from Liberty House, a long-established department store in the United States, in the late 1950s.
