TT15544-128 / TAILOR TOYO Late 1950s Style Velveteen Souvenir Jacket “MOUNTAIN GOAT” × “ALASKAN FLAG”

A highly sought-after vintage design, the rare Alaska-themed souvenir jacket, commonly known as the 'AlaSukajan,' has been faithfully recreated. This particular piece is a revival of a late 1950s jacket featuring the rare white mountain goat. The sleeves are adorned with dog sleds, while the chest displays striking motifs of lightning bolts and a polar bear, creating a luxurious combination. Embroidered on the lower back is the message, 'America's Last Frontier,' a tribute to the untamed wilderness of Alaska.
The reversible side showcases unique Alaskan symbols, including the state flag, Mount McKinley, and totem poles. Originally commissioned by the U.S. military, this jacket was crafted by Kosho (the predecessor of Tailor Toyo) and sold in the PX shops on Alaska military bases during the 1950s.
