This reversible Viet-Jan was custom-ordered in the late 1960s by soldiers stationed in the Vietnam city of Bien Hoa.
The cotton twill side has embroidery of parachute troops, while the chest is simply text only.
The left chest has the notation "HAPPINESS" instead of "福".The nylon ripstop side of the reversible side is embroidered with a history of being stationed in Hue Province, Phu Bai, Vietnam. The landscape pattern is very rare in the Viet-Jan, where map patterns are the norm.

VIETNAM JACKET
Similar to the Sukajan born in postwar Japan, the Vietnam Jacket, also known as the Viet-jan, was born during the Vietnam War from the 1960s to the 1970s.Two types of fabrics were mainly used: cotton twill or camouflage poncho liners, with designs embroidered with matte, thick-colored thread.
