NHATRANG (Nha Trang), a city where the U.S. military port was located during the Vietnam War. The shirt was custom-ordered by a soldier who was stationed in that fierce battleground from 1966 to 1967. The embroidery is an orthodox design with a tiger and a blessing on the chest and a map of Vietnam on the back. The map portion appears to be the same color scheme at first glance, but in reality, the colors have been changed to match the body, perfectly reproducing the charm of the matte embroidery that is unique to the Viet-Jan. VIETNAM JACKET Similar to the Sukajan born in postwar Japan, the Vietnam Jacket, also known as the Viet-jan, was born during the Vietnam War from the 1960s to the 1970s.Two types of fabrics were mainly used: cotton twill or camouflage poncho liners, with designs embroidered with matte, thick-colored thread. |
