This squadron fought on the North African front, in Algeria and Tunisia, and was involved in the invasion of the Italian mainland.
The "HAMMER FIELD" on the back is the name of the base the unit was assigned to from 1941 to 1942, when it was engaged in anti-submarine patrols along the West Coast of the United States.
