SS39279 / SUNSURF COTTON HERRINGBONE OPEN SHIRT “ARMY VEHICLE”

Aloha Tailor was founded in 1937 in the historic town of Wahiawa, close to the North Shore of Oahu. Born in Japan in 1890, Takeo Takato, who later immigrated to Hawaii, started it as a tailor shop providing workwear for plantation workers. Additionally, it was located near the Schofield Barracks, home to the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division, known as "Tropic Lightning," and also handled military equipment. One of their motifs features a vehicle presumably used by GMC for transportation, which saw active service during World War II and the Korean War.
