FEATURES
The advent of wool pile, developed in the 1950s, dramatically improved flight and field jackets.
The material was very revolutionary at the time, with thick cotton yarn cast into the warp and weft to provide strength, and wool planted to keep the fabric warm.
In flight jackets, it supported the maturation period from the B-15B to the MA-1 of the 1970s, and in field jackets, it achieved success with its detachable liners.
Field jackets were equipped with special linings with sleeves to protect against the cold, but these were made into vests, making them a practical item that could be layered with any jacket.
