BR15338 / BUZZ RICKSON'S Type N-1 OLIVE “COTTON SATIN VERSION”

The N-1 Deck Jacket was a cold-weather jacket worn by U.S. Navy deck crews from the mid 1940s to the 1950s. It featured a lining made of warm alpaca wool pile. While the typical N-1 jacket used a heavy twill fabric known as jungle cloth, this particular version was made of a rare cotton　backed-satin fabric. The back satin N-1, compared to the wind-resistant jungle cloth, offered lightweight flexibility and excellent mobility. The N-1's cuffs feature builtin ribs that protect the ribs from friction and ensure cold protection. The cuffs were also reinforced with corduroy for added durability and a comfortable feel, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail in this delicate N-1 jacket.
