Features
The 2nd Helicopter Combat Support Squadron, nicknamed Fleet Angels, was a unit in the U.S. Navy that was created in 1948 and remained active until 1977.
After being stationed at Naval Air Station (NAS) Lakehurst for 25 years, the unit moved its base of operations to NAS Jacksonville, Florida.
In September 1977, after nearly 30 years of activity, the squadron was forced to disband due to budgetary constraints.
On the right breast is a humorous commemorative cruise patch of the unit's 67th Detachment, which sailed the Mediterranean Sea in 1970-1971 aboard the CVA-67 aircraft carrier J.F. Kennedy.
The back is hand painted with a canvas of a soldier's thoughts on anti-war.
